CCACS Gives £1400 To Local Deserving Causes

Castle Cary’s Carnival Society has given £1400 to local deserving causes in their 2015 donations to the community. The cash was raised from collections in Cary’s Children’s and Illuminated 2014 carnivals.

At a well-attended event at Cary’s Rugby Club hall the Society’s Chair Di Pinnions – supported by the 2014 carnival Princesses Kimberly Winters and Charlotte White – presented cheques to the Brue Valley Rotary Club, Caryford Community Hall, Toybox Preschool, Cary Comedians Carnival Club, Castle Cary Majorettes. Donations were also made to Somerset & Dorset Air Ambulance, Dorset & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service and Avon & Somerset Police.

Cary Carnival Society’s committee is meantime busy raising funds for its 2015 carnivals. It has already held the first of its monthly Bingo evenings the Scout Hall in Cary. The next Bingo night is on Wednesday 4 March: doors open at 6.30pm and it’s “eyes down” at 7.30pm.

The Society’s AGM takes place at 8 pm on Tuesday 3 March in Castle Cary Scout Hall (next to the Primary School) and the committee would very much welcome anyone who wishes to attend.
