Castle Cary’s Children’s Carnival Is A Resounding Success.

Last Saturday saw Castle Cary’s Children’s Carnival parade through the town. With a turnout as high as last year’s, and many folk lining the streets to applaud the kids and their parents, the Carnival collected over £360. Press Officer Paul Hansford said, “Despite a rather gloomy afternoon, we had an excellent number of participants and the costumes and props were easily as good as – if not better than – last year…

… I particularly liked the group entries who included some performance in their procession. ‘The Dragon Who Ate The School’ (by Castle Cary Primary School’s Owl Class) were nice and shouty, as were ‘Pups Unleashed’ (by 1st Galhampton Rainbows) who barked their way around the town!”

Among many notable props were Izzy Wheeler’s ‘Helter Skelter’ and the Stokes family’s ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ entries.
