“Carnival Royals” Chosen For The 2014 Season

On Saturday night, a Carnival Society found its Royalty for the 2014 season. Castle Cary & Ansford Carnival Society held its annual children’s disco and Carnival Royalty night last Saturday.

Committee member Paul Hansford reported: “Our Children’s Disco was held at Cary’s Scout Hall, and our thanks to everyone who came along to take part! This year’s Children’s Carnival Princess is Charlotte White and our Carnival Prince is Kieran Ball. Our Illuminated Carnival Princess for 2014 is Kimberley Winters, supported by Attendants Yazmin Churcher and Charlotte Louise Birch.

Charlotte and Kieran will lead the Children’s Carnival Procession on the afternoon of Saturday 4 October. They are also invited to ride in the Royals’ coach in the Evening Carnival Procession. Kimberley, Yazmin and Charlotte Louise will lead the Evening Carnival Procession on Saturday 11 October, with costumes made especially just for them.”

Paul added, “Now would be a good time to remind readers that our Carnival Committee is urgently looking for a new General Secretary and a new Treasurer. Our Secretary Sue Stockman and our Treasurer Ann Emery must step down from their roles in September, so we’re really keen to find good people to replace them.
