Our fabulous 2018 sponsors
Once again our towns’ carnivals have had fantastic support from local businesses and individuals.
It costs some £8,000 to put on our carnivals every year, paid for by a year-round programme of fund-raising.
In last year’s 40th anniversary year we were able to set super-high standards in part thanks to an Arts Council England grant. The Carnival Society Committee wanted to build on this, and have been doing it with only local support!
“We have have relied completely on people coming to our coffee mornings outside the Market House, playing bingo every month, supporting our carnival programme … and the very special local people, organisations and businesses who are our sponsors.” said Society Chair, Di Pinnions.
Enormous and heart-felt thanks from the Carnival Society Committee goes to every single one of them.
The Society’s ambition was to invite back Mahogany Carnival Club from Notting Hill to hold costume workshops with local schools. The energy, passion and learning from these sessions last year was wonderful – and made a significant difference to the standard of the schools’ carnival entries.
So a huge and carnival-spirited ‘thank you’ to The George Hotel and Debra Henderson for sponsoring one of these workshops each.
We are still finalising our sponsors, but so far, listed below are the fabulous people and businesses who help carnival dreams come true!
