As a new company to Castle Cary we at Stonewood would like to take a moment to introduce ourselves to the town and local area. We are award-winning builders of predominantly high specification residential projects but not exclusively, offering exceptional service and a commitment to excellence. Our long-standing reputation is built on our quality approach, our passion for innovation and our professional, trusted relationships with clients.

While the fundamental values of quality, professionalism and service remain at the core of our business, Stonewood has grown considerably in recent years and we now employ over 194 qualified professionals and tradespeople.

Our main office is located in Castle Combe and led by Managing Director; Matt Aitkenhead. Stonewood Builders have been operating in Wiltshire for over 45 years and rebranded in 2001 from the family business, NMA Builders, which was founded by former Matt’s father, Neill Aitkenhead. Today, alongside Matt the company is led by Commercial Director; Ben Lang, Directors; Jamie Priest, Sam Smart and Mike Hopkins. Mike will be running our Southern Division which will be based at the Old Barclays Bank in the Market Place.

With continued successful growth in the company Stonewood are expanding, starting with our new offices in Castle Cary which will enable us to continually embrace opportunities in the Somerset and Dorset area where we have worked on multiple projects over the last few years. We are hoping that having a physical base in the lovely town that is Castle Cary enables us a long-term relationship and future in the area, with clients and the surrounding businesses/companies.
