Illuminated Carnival Road Closures

On 13th October, carnival day, mandatory road closures will be in place on approach roads and in the centre of Cary from 6.30 pm.  Roads will open at 11 pm latest. See below for a map of the route.

Road closures

Mandatory road closures in the centre of town on the carnival route, and on approach roads will be in place from 6:30pm to 11:00pm latest.

The following roads will be closed:

  • On the junction of Millbrook Gardens / Park Street (at Phillips Garage)
  • At Station Road, before the West Park turning
  • On the A371 at the top of Ansford Hill (after the Tuckers Lane turning)
  • Wyke Road at junction with Ansford Road (Waggon and Horses)
  • The A371 / A359 at Grove Cross (crossroads to Bruton and Wincanton)
  • The turnpike at the A359 / B3152 (off the Galhampton/Sparkford road)
  • The junction of the A371 / B3152 (at the bottom of Ansford Hill)
  • The junction of Torbay Road and Station Road (the top of Torbay Road)

The following roads will also be closed, where the procession forms up between 3:00pm – 11:00pm

  • Victoria Park, Victoria Gardens, Florida Fields, and Churchfield Drive
