Choose us as your Co-op Local Cause!
We’re absolutely delighted that Castle Cary and Ansford Carnival Society has been chosen to take part in the Co-op Local Community Fund. This means that every time you shop in a Co-op, a small amount of what you spend could go towards helping our Children’s Carnival 2021. After a year off due to COVID we want to help the children make this one the best yet!
What will the money go towards?
We would like to organise workshops in local primary schools with visiting professional carnival artists from one of the Notting Hill carnival clubs. The workshops will help the children make extra creative costumes for the carnival, learn new skills and work with people from different cultural backgrounds.
We were able to do this before, and Sarah Martin, Head Teacher of Castle Cary Community Primary School said “It was a wonderful experience to see children be creatively and artistically inspired by world-class artists, and to see them develop their capabilities and confidence in themselves.”

When we do this will be dependent on ongoing COVID restrictions, but we hope to be ready for the October 2021 carnival.
How you can help
Every time you spend money in a Co-op, they give a small percentage of what you spend to local charitable causes. For a whole year, from October 2020, we are one of three causes in your community which Co-op Members can support.
You need to select ‘Castle Cary and Ansford Carnival Society’ when you choose which local cause you want to donate to.

You need to be a Co-op Member to be able to donate to us! You can become a Co-op Member online at coop.co.uk/membership or by downloading the Co-op app
