Carnival Spectacular 2024

Although Carnival 2024 was kicked off by a very short shower, spirits were still very high from the enthusiastic crowds that lined the procession route to celebrate this amazing tradition.

The wonderfully creative masqueraders, beautifully lit carts, twirling majorettes, chugging tractors and toe tapping bands all made their way through the streets to create a truly wonderful evening. The quality of the entries was phenomenal again this year.

The biggest cheer of the night went to our local carnival club the Cary Comedians for their entry ‘Oh Crop’ as they danced their way through a tricky malfunction that left them without lights and music. Huge congratulations goes to them for keeping going under such tricky conditions and showing us all what carnival spirit truly is and coming away with a very well deserved spectators choice.

Countess Gytha led the way in the Inter Schools Cup with their Lego themed entry.

Kipling brought the carnival to life with their beautifully colourful entry Blocos de Carnaval taking home Best Feature and Best Overall Entry amongst others.

Storm George entertained us all bringing fun and laughter to their Barbie inspired Dream World and taking home Best Comic on Vehicle.

In the Juvenile section Just Ed took us off to Dream Country to take home Best Individual with his entry BFG, while the Candy Land Crew gave us a sweet tooth winning Group Without Props. Our Little Hells Angels, Higlets CC roared home with 1st Group with Props, Cheeky Monkeys CC took us up to The Highest High with 1st Pairs and Gorgons brought some Dragon Fire to win 1st Juvenile on Vehicle.

Krodie CC took us along to Pandora to claim Adult Pairs. ABC Carnival Club asked us to dance with them at the Masquerade ball coming 1st in Individual Adult and Hot Rock took us back to the late 1960’s with a bit of Hippie, Hippie Shake taking 1st in Group Adult.

A huge congratulations to our visiting majorettes Euphoria Twirl who came first in the Majorettes competition.

The carnival evening was finished off by another fabulous set from the always wonderful Justin Daish, entertaining the crowds and entrants waiting for the results.

Over 70% of the collection goes to local charitable causes so we’re delighted to say that from both carnivals we raised over £2000.00. A very big thank you to our ever-generous community.

The Carnival Society would like to thank everyone; our sponsors, marshals, collectors and the 100’s of other people who help make our big night out happen. Carnival spirit is alive and well in Cary!
