Castle Cary & Ansford Carnival Society / News  / Jeannie Thanisch, our new Hon. Vice President

Jeannie Thanisch, our new Hon. Vice President

We are delighted to welcome Jeannie Thanisch to the post of Hon. Vice President for Castle Cary and Ansford Carnival Society.

For ten years Jeannie, as Treasurer, has very carefully and with great professionalism, looked after ‘the books’ making sure that the money donated from local residents and businesses was tracked, and reported on. Plus flagging to the committee when we needed to re-double our fund-raising efforts!

Jeannie is carnival! Our towns’ very special Children’s Carnival a particular favourite time of the year, and of course, the fabulous noise and lights and celebration of the evening illuminated carnival. When she was living on the high street, her whole family would join in the celebrations – somehow with Jeannie fresh and ready to oversee ‘the count’ of the collection first thing the following morning. See? Jeannie is carnival!

Many many thanks Jeannie. Your professionalism, integrity and cheer – and hard work – has made you part of carnival history in our towns.
