Anything but the wurst!

Castle Cary and Ansford Carnival Society got their 2021 fund-raising programme off to a great start last Saturday at the town’s EAT festival.

Resplendent in lederhosen, Jan Schimmelpfennig, our General Secretary’s husband sold authentic German sausages to a lively crowd.  “It was great to be doing something normal” was the most heard quote of the day!   If not from Jan!!

Thanks to our fabulous committee for stepping in, and Jan’s German friend Uwe who came all the way from London to give another pair of authentic helping hands.

We are delighted to have raised £300.  “So many people sought out our stall – just to support carnival” said Caroline, Jan’s wife.  “That was really great – especially when there were so many other fabulous food stalls.”
