40 Years Of Carnival

2017 marks an amazing 40 years of carnival in Castle Cary!

To celebrate we’re planning a programme of special events, as well as making our children’s and evening illuminated processions brighter and better then ever!

For starters, see if you can spot yourself in carnivals gone by. We have a special exhibition in the ton’s museum which is on now!

The big dates for your diary this year are Saturday 7th October for the Ann Hallett Children’s Carnival and Saturday 14th October for evening illuminated procession.

Such as special year makes it a great time to get involved and help out. It takes a lot of people, with lots of different skill and talents to bring the procession to a street near you. If you love carnival, how about helping out? Perhaps keeping our streets safe during the procession? Or, writing our press releases, liaising with the media and feeding our social media? Or, helping to raise the £8,000 we need to put the carnival on? It could be as little as a couple of hours a month, or a few hours around carnival time. If you love carnival – we’d love to hear from you!
